The BIC Classic (for normal skin)

Product Rating - 2 Stars-Not so Good

What can be said about the BIC Classic that has not already been said like, ouch! That smarts! You can buy a 5 pack of these bad boys for $1.59 at your local store. They are the most widely available cheap disposables next to the Gillette Good News. Unless you have a face like shoe leather, this may not be the disposable for you. I found myself struggling to shave hard to reach areas like under my nose and around my chin. I had to back off after the second pass for fear of serious irritation.

Don't get me wrong, I looked good from a few feet away. This shaver is good for an overnight stay in jail or a camping trip. This single blade shaver is all plastic. No lubrication strip, no soft gel razor guard. You have to be very careful when you use this shaver. You can easily get bumps or cuts if you are not paying attention. This is an unforgiving razor. So man up, lay down a buck-fifty, break out the after shave and get ready to do your best Macaulay Culkin impression.

Oh sh**t.

The Schick Hydro 3

Rating: 4 out of five Stars - Excellent!

The Hydro 3 is one of the latest disposable cartridge razors from Schick. It can be purchased at almost any retail outlet in your neighborhood for $7 .99 to $9.99. That includes the handle, 2 cartridges and one holding tray for the razor and a 5 cartridge magazine. A 4 pack of replacement cartridges will set you back anywhere from $8.00 to $11.00 depending where you shop. The Hydro 3 has a nice balance to it. The handle is a combination of metal, plastic and contoured rubber grips. It feels natural in your hand. The Hydro 3 has two features that make it unique. The first is the aloe infused, water activated lubrication reservoir, and it is a reservoir, not just a lubrication strip. The second are the blade guards on the 3 blades. The blade guards keep the skin in between the blades from bulging, this reduces friction or that tugging feeling on your face.

I loved shaving with this razor! This razor has more lubrication than an adult film! I almost never felt the blades. It is well worth the money.

There is not much to criticize except the flimsy plastic tray the razor comes with. If you shave with the Gillette Mach 3, Mach 3 Turbo, or even the M3 Power, you should test drive the Schick Hydro 3 today.
